Because I’m almost
positive nobody’s tired of hearing about
I
Hraet You just yet. Time to test the
patience of my readership!
In all seriousness,
though, this is probably going to be the last housekeeping post for IHY -- the next thing to start popping
up will be new chapters. But even so, I
want to go ahead and take steps now, so that everything I can think of or might
want/need in the future is pre-installed.
So here we are, with the latest feature.
It’s simple, really. I’m reserving this page preemptively for
giving feedback -- a sort of “wall” for leaving me messages you think I need to
see. Got an idea for a bonus chapter? Leave a comment. Want to ask a question about one of the
characters (what’s Lloyd’s natural hair color, for example), leave a
comment. Feel like making a prediction
about where the story’s going?
Comment. Have a quote in mind
that you can’t get out of your head?
Comment. Or maybe you just want
to tell me if my quality’s above or below par -- in which case, go ahead and
comment. (I’ll never get better without
practice AND reader input, after all.)
Disqus SHOULD be able to handle the duress for now, but even so I’ll be
updating this page as time passes -- a record for posterity, if you will. Though of course, the bestest-best comments
will likely take top priority in getting embedded in the page, along with
proper attribution; if you’re a fellow blogger, I’d be more than happy to leave
your site's address.
Gamification at its
finest, people.
Joking aside, this is
just one of my (admittedly haphazard) efforts to try and make IHY as user-friendly as possible. I may be the one penning this thing, but it’s
not just my story; it’s something that belongs to everyone who’s willing to put
in the time. If there’s a way for me to
engage with and reward readers, then I should at least try to offer
something. Showing thanks, satisfying
curiosity, and the like.
So I guess I should
preemptively say thanks. The page will
end up becoming a part of the IHY tab,
so let it be known that the option to voice your opinion will be there from now
on. And with that, I’m out.
(Okay, real content
coming soon. Really soon. Promise.)
I think you're doing well so far. You certainly have the passion. Just like the Shonen Otaku himself.
ReplyDeleteHey, thanks for the support. I'm still more than a little concerned about my technique, but I think if I keep up the effort, I'll level-up soon enough.
