Well, I suppose as the
(so-called) webmaster, I should probably make a formal announcement of sorts
here on the blog. I’ve made a fan page
on Facebook -- see the icon on the right for a link (or just click here) -- as an alternative
place for my virtual space to begin its corruption of the internet.
Admittedly, there’s
still a LOT of work that needs to be done, but it’ll get there. But I suppose the biggest task ahead of me is
getting people to actually go there; the idea is to create a community of
sorts, and even if it takes a while, I want to emphasize that I’m doing what I
can to please any readers that come here.
I mean, I can remember the days -- or months, actually -- when I’d log
in to Blogger and stare at the dashboard, hoping that someday I’d end up seeing
my first comment. Things have certainly
gotten better since then, but I want to do more -- for me, and for everyone
involved.
So yeah, I’ll be
keeping at it -- maybe I’ll throw in some extra incentives. Original content or something. Whatever it entails, it’ll likely have
something to do with I Hraet You.
And on that note, I
think I’ll use this space to make an announcement: once this arc is complete, I
Hraet You is going to go on hiatus. The
arc’s end is coming up pretty soon (less than ten chapters, if I had to guess),
and I figure that it’s about time for me to start working on some other stuff
-- stuff that I’ve wanted to write for a long time now. Don’t worry, Lloyd’s misadventures aren’t
going to end anytime soon -- I still have to get to that wrestling scene -- but
it IS about time to take a break. How
long will it be? I don’t know. It depends on how far I get on that other
stuff, so I won’t say anything like “I
Hraet You will return this Christmas!”
But at the very least,
there’s a pretty big backlog of chapters.
If you’re starved for content, maybe you should give the earlier
chapters a read. I did some (pretty
obtuse) foreshadowing of future events, so maybe you should take a look.
Well, that’ll do for
now. This is your friendly afro-haired
webmaster, signing off.
Ah, Facebook. I should probably make a page for Turtles all the Way on there, but that would require signing up for Facebook to begin with. And while I understand Twitter's appeal, Facebook's has always been an enigma to me.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I wouldn't even have started using Facebook if it wasn't for a (theoretically) prophetic dream where I found true love by reuniting with a girl I knew from elementary school. Said prophecy has not come true...yet.
ReplyDeleteBut to be even more honest -- even though the above is more or less true -- Facebook, Twitter, and all that jazz are an enigma to me, even if I know/use them both. Oh well; guess I'll just have to keep using it, and keep learning. Something'll come of it eventually, as long as I have patience.
I'll tell you what, though -- you should give making a fan page a try. Maybe it'll bring you some unexpected benefits...or at the very least, you can talk with your friends who DO use Facebook. Chances are a lot of them do, if stats are to be believed. Or so the legend goes...
